Airmont Scoop (now mylocalscoop.com) is “Your local source of news in the village of Airmont” (states it right in the banner of the website so it must be true). As a resident of Airmont, I felt it necessary to expose their lack of journalistic integrity and point out that we have been lied to since Day 1 of the scoop’s “reporting”. The Airmont Scoop editor J. Mark Peterlin is not the editor of Airmont Scoop.

In recent discoveries, we here at the Airmont Poop ‘n Scoop (trademark pending) did a whole 5 minutes of background investigation on Airmont Scoop’s Website. Through a basic search with face book, it appears that J Mark Peterlin has 2 separate accounts:

One account for his Airmont, NY scoop “fans”,

And another account for his personal use. Notice they both have that same sexy smile. and even use the same pictures.

While having the 2 face book accounts may not be interesting, one picture in his personal account did catch our eye. Below is a picture of Mr. Peterlin’s house posted on his personal page.

The photo matches the google street view address listed for Joseph M Peterlin in the white pages, only the address is in Milwaukee, WI and NOT in Airmont, NY.

We, at Airmont Poop ‘n Scoop, asked ourselves: Why would this person, who is not even registered to vote in our village, and living in Milwaukee, WI, post anything local news related for Airmont, NY? Then it hit us.

Mordechai, aka “Mort,” Becker of 2 Algonquin Circle in Monsey, NY is the missing connection. Mort Becker: The boy behind the camera. The boy at the meetings. The boy asking all the questions for Airmont Scoop but surprisingly no articles are written by.

Mort Becker is….wait for it…..Airmont, NY’s J. Mark Peterlin! I know, Mind completely blown right?

Take note that the “editor” of Airmont Scoop made 10 blog posts in September of 2014, 1 blog post in all of October of 2014 (October 1st to be exact), and 9 in November of 2014. Notice the big drop for October compared to the other months.

Coincidentally, Mort Becker, went to Poland in October of 2014. This would limit his involvement with everyday Airmont, NY news and as such, no posts were made.

As Ockham’s razor suggests, the simplest explanation is most likely to be correct. It is more likely that the majority of “Editor” posts originate from my good friend Morty and he’s been using the name of his real friend in Milwaukee, WI to help mask his identity here in NY in fear of backlash from his sketchy misguided blog posts.

Well we at Airmont Poop ‘n Scoop have just one question for Airmont Scoop: Will the real J. Mark Peterlin please stand up?
